International Request
Invitation to seminar:
Outreach seminar: “International Request”
Erasmus Mundus students present experiences and suggestions
to the University Colleges of Oslo and Akershus on the road towards
a unified and internationally oriented Polytechnic University
The seminar takes place Thursday December 10th 1:00pm-3:00pm
LATINA/lab, Pilestredet 48, room 366.
Admission is free.
Five Erasmus Mundus students from Akershus University College have acted as interns at the LATINA R & D laboratory in the Learning Center of Oslo University College in late fall 2009.
They have participated with specific assignments and tasks in projects such as LATINA/lingua on capacity building for a multi-linguistic approach to teaching and learning, Glossa that develops a course on global statistics for advocacy for the international library scene, ACHRON for creating a Master level course on digital dissemination and impartment of art and cultural heritage resources and Lære.Verk for ”1.bibliotekarprogrammet”.
The International Request seminar is a peer-oriented learning event where the students describe and analyse their results and experiences based on these and other activities.
At the same time the students will reflect upon and instigate discussions based on a wider perspective on Erasmus Mundus 4, their theoretical take on challenges in the field of internationalisation as well as their one-and-a-half year experiences as (mostly) Non-European Master level students in European institutions of learning.
The framework for the seminar has been defined as
- to assist (”scaffold”) the interns’ own study and reflections on their experiences and their report from the practicum at Oslo University College
- to convey and discuss such experiences with faculty and other staff at the Oslo and Akershus University Colleges
- to strengthen the cooperative relationship between Oslo and Akerhus University Colleges and prepare for their merger into a new community- and internationally oriented Polytechnic University,- in particular
- to prepare for improved and unified work with Erasmus Mundus-programs in the new university. There are currently two in Oslo and one in Akershus
- to explore ways in which the Summer School at Oslo University College can become a shared resource and how this summer event can serve to strengthen existing and future Erasmus Mundus programs
The interns and two of their advisors (from left to right): Zuleida Ramirez (Venezuela) ,
Rafael Velasquez Fuster (Cuba), Souleymane Yeo (Elfenbenskysten), Lidia Wisniewska (Polen),
Helge Høivik (Høgskolen i Oslo), Mette Høie (Høgskolen i Akershus) and Eric Otchoun (Benin).
